Carrie's birthday
It's Carolines' birthday today !!!!!! Happy Birthday my dear friend!!
Caroline is a wonderful, caring friend
and I wanted to share with everyone how much she means to me!
(Just shows you how like-minded we are....THANK YOU Carrie for
your beautiful tribute)
When I think of Carrie, I think of her laughter!
She has the most AWESOME laugh of anyone I know!
That belly laugh has brought so much joy to my life.
Caroline is a true friend. One that comes along once in a life time.
She is an encourager!I have so many little notes and bookmarks she has blessed
me with... all with perfectly chosen Bible verses! We are sisters in Christ!
I have a sister whom I love dearly, but as with siblings there are complications.
Caroline is like a sister without those complications! There is no competition
or emotional baggage you sometimes get amongst siblings. There is just an acceptance
of eachother and it is a wonderful friendship to have!!!
Do I miss her from across the pond? More than I can tell! But, a bond like that is not easily broken and distance cannot and will not change the bond between us!
Friends like Caroline are hard to find. I think the world would be soo much better if we
all just took the time to be kind, caring and thoughtful to eachother....like Carrie
Caroline is a go-getter! I am so very proud of the way she has coped with the move to America. The way she studied, which I know must have been so very difficult with a young family to take care of!! Well done! She has a heart of GOLD- a Jesus heart!! Her hubby and children are her life and her dedication to them is amazing to watch! She is an AWESOME wife and mother! I have learnt many tips from watching her gentle spirit!(Well gentle most of the time LOL...)She'll know what I mean!!!!
What always amazes me is how often we'll be thinking the same things!!!! That still blows my mind!!!! People don't always understand the depth of our friendship. They don't understand that God gives us friends as a gift.Sometimes Carolines' and my hubby would look at us laughing hysterically and look at eachother and shrug their shoulders. They don't get it :-))))LOL
My friend, have a great birthday! You are in my heart always-I thank God
that He blessed me with an earthly angel for a friend!
Love
Neenie

I love you the purplest
I just have to share a children's book I've just read!! It is about a mother who has two little boys. It is a beautiful story of a mothers' unconditional and equal love for her children.I love it espescially as I also have two boys and I can relate to this moms problem of showing no favouritism towards her boys.
The boys go digging for worms in preparation for a fishing trip. They collect a tin each and ask their mom who has the best tin.She tactfully tells them one has the juiciest worms while the other has the most lively ones.Happy that they both are equally wonderful, the boys go fishing with their mom.
The one boy catches three fish while the other only catches one and they ask her who is the best fisherman. She wisely tells them that the one who caught the most was very skilled, but that the boy who caught one, was very patient to have waited so long for his very crafty fish.Once again both boys are happy.
That night in their bunk beds they each whisper in her ear "Mama, who do you love the best?"......a question kids WANT to ask but don't!
She lovingly tells the one boy that she loves him the bluest. The blue of a dragonflies wings he loves to catch. The blue of the bright moon at night .... Then she tells the other boy she loves him the reddest. The red of the setting sun or the burning fire he loves so much. Then they go to sleep happy in the knowledge that their mama loves them equally!
DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT? The illustrations are beautiful.I brought it home from school to read to my boys and they LOVED IT (I now have to go and buy them each a copy!) And.... when I hug them I tell Chris "I love you the bluest" and when I hug Travis I tell him " I love you the reddest" And my boys know that I love them equally!!!!
Together they make a beautiful "purple" in my life!

We shall remember them
As it is Memorial Day in USA I thought I'd include photos of my own hero.My Dad was captured during WW2 and I thought I'd put in these photos of him , one taken in the desert in Egypt, the other in a studio in Italy. His name was Harry Fincham Fred Reed born 11 July 1920 and died 26 May 2002. He lived a long and happy life and I will always remember the stories of War he told.I miss him so very much.I was fortunate that he came home safely, married my Mom and had a happy life. I dedicate this page to all heroes of war....

Mother
For those lucky to still be blessed with your Mom,
this is beautiful. For those of us who aren't, this is
even more beautiful.
For those who are moms, you'll love this.My niece and her daughter,Jadelyn
The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?" she asked.
And the guide said: "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it.
But the end will be better than the beginning."
My Godmother and her daughter
But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that anything could be better than these years. So she
played with her children, and gathered flowers for
them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and
the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was
dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother
drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and
the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children," A little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached the top
they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."
And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up
at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my
children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.
Yesterday I gave them courage Today, I've given them strength."
My best friend Caroline,a mom who PRAYS! and baby Zane
And the next day came strange clouds which darkened
the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped
and stumbled, and the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the light.
" And the children looked and saw above the clouds
an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the
darkness. And that night the Mother said, "This is the best day of all, for
I have shown my children God"
My Mom died 23 yrs ago-our last pic together!
And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and
the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent.
But her children were tall and strong, and walked with
courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her,
for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill,
and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide And
mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end
is better than the beginning, for my children can
walk alone, and their children after them." My boys and I
And the children said, "You will always walk with us,
Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates
closed afterher.Andthey said: "We cannot see her
but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She
is a living presence......."
Your Mother is always with you.... She's the whisper
of the leaves as you walk down the street; she's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks; she's the cool hand
on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives
inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from, your first home; and
she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love
and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can
separate you. Not time, not space... not even death!
I miss my Mom even 23 years later! But she is with me still...in the memories and the characteristics I inherited from her.Don't you just love the "mommy moment" photos I have? Love ya!!!

Dressing up!
This is my youngest,Travis, dressing up with paper moustache and beard!!
Sir Travis!!
"Much more better"-says Captain Jack Sparrow!!
Captain Kid-Our church had a dress up day and the kids had to create a superhero (The theme was Jesus..our superhero)Travis won first prize!
Needless to say, my youngest has a future in movies. His brothers sometimes get rather irritated by him and they call him a "dramaQueen"(sometimes I do too :-) But I am glad he has confidence and I hope he keeps using his imagination for a while yet....we all lose it sooner or later...sadly!
I enjoy watching kids live themselves into roles as they play.As adults we escape the real world by reading a book or watching a movie....or writing a journal!!!!!!!!
Take care.....my (non-imaginary) friends!!!
